Emergency Fund Launched For BU Founder Laurie J. Marks

Writer Laurie J. Marks, one of the founders of Broad Universe, is recovering from a Feb. 24 accident.

Laurie was leaning on the porch railing at her home in Massachusetts when the railing collapsed, sending her 8 feet to the ground. Laurie cracked some ribs, broke her leg and fractured a vertebra. She has had two successful operations. Her convalescence is expected to continue well into summer.

Friends and fans have launched a fund-raising campaign to help Laurie and her partner Deb meet the expenses of Laurie's long recovery.
