The Motherboard

Broad Universe prides itself on maintaining a non-hierarchical structure to its organization. Power does not revolve around a single president and her cabinet members. Instead we have a group of elders, each with a single vote, known as the motherboard. The motherboard is responsible for setting policy and making decisions that affect all of BU. So far this structure has served us well.

The ideas and concerns of the individual members are very important to any organization. The yahoo group mail list has been an avenue for members to voice concerns on BU's policies and practices. This is especially effective if a number of opinions will help come to a decision. In addition to the yahoo group list, ideas, complaints, questions, or even compliments can be passed on to the motherboard via email to info(at)broaduniverse.org. This is a direct line to the elders and should be used anytime a member feels contact with the motherboard is required. Any of the members of the motherboard can be contacted directly as well.

The motherboard is composed of seven elders which meet four times a year either in the flesh or over the phone. Policy issues are discussed and decisions made at those times. Member issues that were unresolved during email discussion or brought to the motherboard's attention will be taken up at the meeting. Future projects are usually discussed as well.

Current members of the motherboard can be found on the About page of the website.

In addition to the motherboard, Broad Universe has an advisory council which can also be found on the About page.
