"Zero Hour," a flash fiction story by Sue Burke, was published in October by Daily Science Fiction. It can be read at: http://dailysciencefiction.com/story/zero-hour

The title of the story refers a problem with clocks and what that means for a man who loves his wife. Burke, who lives in Madrid, Spain, says it was written under the influence of Ernest Hemingway's ghost.

Daily Science Fiction, founded by Jonathan Laden and Michele Barrasso, began publishing in September. It sends a short speculative fiction story each weekday to subscribers by email, and then posts them on its website. Its definition of "speculative fiction" includes the genres of science fiction (or sci-fi), fantasy, slipstream, alternative history, and even stories with lighter speculative elements. Subscriptions are free and submissions are open.
