Social Media Maven Needed

Do you love to Tweet? Is Facebook your middle name? Did you seriously consider getting LJ tattooed on your wrist? Have we got a deal for you! Broad Universe is looking for a Social Media Maven.

This is a long-term position, and as such you'd be eligible for these great benefits if you are willing to dedicate one membership year to a position:

• We waive you membership fee for the year
• We offer you a website badge citing your position for you to display on your website
• We give you recognition and promotion on the Broad Universe website

Volunteering brings many other benefits that can help writers on their career, such as networking opportunities, resume/query/cover letter building experience, and the gratification of know YOU are making a difference and helping sister writers of speculative fiction.

What are the duties of a Social Media Maven? Duties include, but may not be limited to:

• Creating and/or Maintaining an active group page on Facebook
• Creating and maintaining an active fan page on Facebook
• Maintain the Broad Universe Twitter page, including following other Broads and positive resources for members
• Create and/or Maintain the Broad Universe Live Journal community
• Create and/or Maintain a professional blog for Broad Universe (which may include articles written by members, news and press releases, and links to useful articles)
• Maintain the News page at www.broaduniverse.org

The Social Media Maven may also streamline these tools so that they update each other and present a unified "face" of Broad Universe.

The Social Media Maven may suggest changes to the Broad Universe social media plan, such as better blogging platforms or new tools we should adopt.  Upon approval, the Social Media Maven would be responsible for implementing these changes and incorporating then into the existing social media plan.

The Social Media Maven is responsible for keeping the Broad Universe Motherboard informed on progress and any problems that may arise.  The Motherboard will offer any and all support possible to the Social Media Maven.
